Dr Tarun Nagpal

is a GDC registered specialist oral surgeon. He currently splits his time between education, private dental practice and locum consultant/specialist work within NHS Trusts.

He graduated from King’s College London in 2016, completed foundation training in Surrey and then completed several years of Oral and Maxillofacial training in and around London. He completed his national training in oral surgery within the OMFS unit based in Luton and Bedford Hospital and pass the tri-collegiate exam to hold a diploma of membership in Oral Surgery.

Tarun regards postgraduate education as a fundamental pillar in the ongoing professional development of every dentist. He has personally undertaken advanced training and has had the opportunity to present internationally in Germany, Canada, Belgium, and the UAE. He holds a post graduate diploma in primary dental care, a post graduate certificate in dental education, is an IACSD accredited sedationist and reading towards an MSc in Dental implantology.

He holds membership to the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh and the Faculty of Dental Trainers at the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh. He is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Tarun is the course lead for the London Oral Surgery Diploma with the Smile Dental Academy. He also provides short course teaching via his academy, Simply Oral Surgery. Tarun has been involved in teaching for several course faculties throughout the country and is involved in providing teaching for East of England HEE.

Tarun’s professional interests lies in providing the full range of oral surgery treatments, behavioural management for anxious patients and dental implantology. His anatomical knowledge serves him well to provide facial aesthetic procedures from dermal fillers and botulinum toxin to Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy (PRP).

Outside of work Tarun is the healthcare clinical lead for the charity Nishkam SWAT, focusing on providing selfless service to those less fortunate. He has featured in media discussions on homelessness and social exclusion.

Tarun enjoys being an educator and has been involved in undergraduate teaching for nearly 10 years ranging from dental core trainees to specialist trainees. He provides mentoring to clinicians across the UK in oral surgery, sedation and facial aesthetic treatments.

With a background that combines advanced hospital training and significant primary care experience, Dr. Nagpal is uniquely positioned to bridge the gap between primary care and specialist surgical practice. He is committed to educating primary care practitioners on optimal surgical techniques, clinical decision-making, and the effective utilisation of healthcare resources.
