Dr Richard J Moore

Richard Moore is a Consultant Oral Surgeon, registered with the General Dental Council UK on the Oral Surgery Specialist List.

He was awarded his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree in 2002 at the University of Birmingham and completed an externship in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Illinois, Chicago and gained experience in Canada. In addition he holds Fellowships at both the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh and Faculty of Dental Trainers at the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh. Richard is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Richard is a Clinical Lecturer in Oral Surgery at the University of Leeds and an Honorary Consultant Oral Surgeon at  Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

His professional interests are wide-ranging, including being a reviewer for several academic journals, and lecturing internationally. He has a particular clinical interests in all aspects of oral surgery and dental implants. In addition to this, he has interests within managing medically compromised patients, third molars and treatment under conscious sedation.

Richard is an educator and provides mentoring to clinicians across the UK in oral surgery, please contact him if you are interested in this service. Outside dentistry, he is an Advanced Life Support Instructor and Provider for the Resuscitation Council UK. In addition to his clinical activity, Richard is currently studying a PhD at the University of Leeds.
