The Smile Dental Academy's Diploma in Oral Surgery offers dental professionals an in-depth grasp and insight into the latest approaches in Oral Surgery. The Dip in Oral Surgery strives to cover the fundamental aspects of oral surgery enabling clinicians to manage cases from straightforward surgical extractions to more complex procedures like implant surgeries and management of oral pathological conditions.
The Diploma spans over a 12-month period involving 18 days of face-to-face teaching (which includes lectures, hands-on practical sessions, models, and case-based discussions) supplemented by guided self-learning elements between official teaching days. There will be the opportunity to see patients under the supervision of our clinicians.
This extensive course is divided into 4 Modules focusing on core knowledge (Module 1 and 2), clinical skills (Module 3), and advanced clinical skills (Module 4). The course will be delivered by a group of GDC registered specialist oral surgeons who possess considerable experience in both hospital settings and practice-based clinical operations.
Participants will acquire knowledge and practical abilities that will enable them to evaluate, assess, diagnose and manage oral surgery cases in General Practice.
Comprehensive support will be provided throughout the duration of the course, fostering an enriching learning environment.
Our Programmes are EduQual Level 7 accredited which leads to a Diploma. This is subject to a satisfactory presentation of a clinical portfolio and assessments. Guidance of which is given throughout the course by the Programme Directors.
EduQual is a regulated awarding body, approved by SQA-Accreditation, a globally-recognised national qualifications regulator in the UK.
They are a full member of the Federation of Awarding Bodies (FAB).
